Adam and Chelsea are looking at the stats for their media hit piece on Cane and celebrating. Adam says it couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy. This is the best time he’s had in a while! Cane shows up at the door, and Adam asks if he enjoyed their article.

Cane thinks Adam seems pretty pleased with himself.

Adam says it’s journalism at its finest! Would Cane like to go on record? They could use a comment while he’s here! He thinks the next headline could be “The Mysterious Billionaire is The Sleazy Conman’s Sleazy Son”.

Cane says that it was quite an interesting piece, but it was fiction.

Adam grins. He’s enjoying this!

Cane says he dropped by to tell them he’s going to be suing Newman Media for defamation.

Adam isn’t surprised.

Chelsea scoffs. Did Cane really think that Colin just got the estate legitimately?

Cane says he took his father’s word on it.

Chelsea sniffs. Colin swindled tons of people, and yet Cane believed him?

Cane reminds Chelsea that she has quite a colorful history herself… She pulled off many a con in her time! He’s just asking for them to give him the benefit of the doubt like Adam gave Chelsea… Do they even have any proof?

Adam says he has the letter from Madame de Lion.

Cane asks if they did any factchecking; is there any real proof that can tie him to his father’s scam, or are they just blindly following Victor’s orders?

Adam says Cane should wait until Madame de Lion’s relatives come out of the woodwork and claim that he stole what was theirs. He and Amanda will too busy fending off lawsuits to enjoy his chateau or the “cute train” he lives on.

Cane isn’t worried, but Adam should be worried at what he’s going to unleash. He hopes they have a good bunch of lawyers. Before he leaves, he says he has a new story for them… An exclusive, which he’ll give to Chelsea, since he likes her “so much.” This one will have a very different outcome!

Adam asks what that’s supposed to mean… Is Cane going to be a hero in this story? If Cane wants to do something noble and good, he should give up his AI program for good. They’re ready for whatever he throws at them!

Cane smiles and leaves.
