EastEnders’ Sharon Watts’ return storyline ‘exposed’ as fans ‘work out’ DNA twist
EastEnders legend Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) is making a comeback to Albert Square after a five-month hiatus, following the tragic demise of her dear friend Martin Fowler (James Bye) in February.
The blonde beauty was reunited with her adoptive half-sister, Vicki Fowler (Alice Haig), before leaving Walford to console her bereaved friend, Michelle Fowler (Jenna Fowler), in Australia. However, Sharon makes a grand return to the Square on Monday (September 22), oblivious to the fact that Zoe Slater (Michelle Ryan) has also returned after a 20-year break.
As avid viewers of the BBC soap will recall, Zoe had an affair with Sharon’s father, Dirty Den Watts (Leslie Watts), while she was attempting to rekindle her relationship with ex-boyfriend Dennis Rickman (Nigel Harman), who happened to be Sharon’s lover and adoptive brother.
This week, Vicki was livid to see Zoe in Walford and didn’t hesitate to give her a piece of her mind. However, come Monday, Sharon returns home and is equally enraged to see Zoe parading around outside No.31, reports Plymouth Live.
While her siblings, Vicki Fowler (Alice Haig) and Zack Hudson (James Farrar), extend a warm welcome, she remains focused on Zoe and decides to confront her. But, much to everyone’s surprise, she extends an olive branch to her in The Vic.
Sharon has another reunion lined up when she encounters Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) in the café. She offers a peace offering and asks Phil to look after their son Albie that evening, which he agrees to.
Sharon’s focus quickly shifts to Vicki’s financial troubles, but feeling swamped by Joel Marshall’s (Max Murray) ongoing antics, Vicki marches off, sparking yet another row with Zoe.
Zack and Anthony Trueman (Nicholas Bailey) find themselves having to separate the feuding pair once more, though Zack ends up getting caught in the crossfire.
Afterwards, Sharon and Phil enjoy a tender moment together, though her joy doesn’t last long when she arrives home to discover Vicki and Zack following their run-in with Zoe.
Sharon tackles Zoe head-on in The Vic, but Zoe hits back with a bombshell revelation. But what exactly does Zoe reveal to her?
Subsequently, at the café, Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) picks up on Sharon’s distress and brings her back to his place for a candid chat with Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth). Ian attempts to persuade Sharon that Zoe is spinning lies.
EastEnders viewers are certain that Zoe is about to drop the bombshell that the father of her twins, who arrived in 2006, was either her slain father Dirty Den or his son Dennis Rickman, in a massive DNA revelation.
One fan posted on Facebook: “I think I’ve worked this out. Zoe killed Den in 2005, and the flashback was in 2006 when she gave birth. So she was pregnant with Den’s twins which is why now Vicki is heavily in involved and Sharon is coming back! She gave birth to their siblings.”
Another responded: “Got to be Dennis – he died Jan 2006! ! That would really tick Sharon off! ! And the twins would be Vicky’s niece and nephew! X.”
Another person added their two cents, stating: “It’s her step brothers Dennis kids.”
