Huge EastEnders twists in early iPlayer release as arrest is made amid hostage horror
Today’s trip to Albert Square showed that Zoe Slater (Michelle Ryan) finally overcame Greg Dolan’s (Dean Williamson) threat, and his downfall also settled things between Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara) and Jack Branning (Scott Maslen).
In yesterday’s episode, Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) determinedly tried to discover Greg’s true fate after Zoe admitted she had left him for dead following his attempt to assault her.
Stacey and Zoe tracked Greg down, but this did little more than whet the creepy investigators appetite for revenge and the episode ended with him holding Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace) hostage with a particularly large screwdriver.
Meanwhile, Jack pondered coming clean to Zoe, wracked with guilt by her terror after he accidentally shot her during his scuffle with Ravi. With Ravi in possession of the gun, Jack feels the only way to regain control is to come clean.
Denise Fox (Diane Parish) begged him to keep shtum, but realising the difference between he and nemesis Ravi is that Jack at least tries to do the right thing, he’d made his mind up.
Denise visited Ravi and informed him of Jack’s plan, pleading with him to realise that blackmail is above him and to return the gun to Jack.
Back in the Vic, Greg revealed to a shocked Kat that one of Zoe’s babies survived and demanded cash in exchange for leaving. The appearance of Tommy Moon (Sonny Kendall), however, shook him, leading Stacey to reveal there was more money in the safe upstairs to keep him away from the teenager.
Jack headed to the Vic to confess his sins, but Ravi interrupted and pointed a gun at him—until Tommy pleaded for their help and derailed them both.
As Jack and Ravi tried to sneak in via the cellar, Ravi revealed that he was never going to harm Jack with the gun, he was going to return it.
With police sirens flashing, Greg vowed to take Zoe down with him. But after a violent clash with the Slaters, Kat struck him with a cricket bat and knocked him unconscious.
As Ravi and Jack gained entry, they discovered Greg on the floor, and Zoe informed them that he had shot her. As the women went downstairs to talk to the police, Ravi suggest to Jack that perhaps Greg did shoot Zoe…and produces the gun.
Later, Jack is informed by a colleague that they found a gun matching the calibre of the shot that hit Zoe on Greg. Jack returned home and finally relaxed; Greg would’ve killed Zoe anyway, and now she can rest knowing he’s behind bars. He can also breathe a sigh of relief knowing the gun is gone. Two birds, one stone.
As Kat probed Zoe to open up about her son, she promised her daughter that they’d do everything they could to locate the missing boy as the two held each other, sobbing. With Greg out of the way, will the Slater’s be able to retrieve Zoe’s missing son?
