It’s fair to say the ITV show has undergone a cast change in recent months, as several exits have taken place already in 2025. Max Turner (Paddy Bever) was sent to prison for six years, and Craig Tinker (Colson Smith) was brutally killed off after 14 years.
Meanwhile, soap legend Eileen Grimshaw (Sue Cleaver) also left the cobbles after 25 years and headed thousands of miles away to Thailand.
However, there are still plenty more changes ahead as it was recently confirmed by soap boss Iain MacLeod that a beloved Weatherfield resident will be killed off in the new year, as part of the historic crossover with soap Emmerdale in early 2026.

But now, fans fear another star could be leaving after noticing a cryptic clue. Recently, Betsy Swain actress Sydney Martin announced that, she will be starring in a short film, called Through The Eyes Of Bairns.
The film also stars Emmerdale legend Michelle Hardwick, who is best known for playing village vet Vanessa Woodfield, in the lead role of Rose, while Sydney plays the young adult version of Rose.

Sydney’s fans and co-stars were quick to send their support, however some of her followers were quick to interpret it as a sign that the star could be leaving the soap.
One worried fan penned: “Are you leaving Corrie I pray not you’re the only reason I keep watching.” Another chimed in: “Does this mean not going to be in Corrie.” Echoing their thoughts, a third wrote: “Does this mean she’s leaving Corrie?”
