The game keeps changing in Cane’s attempt to take over all of Genoa City and his next big gambit could push his opponent, The Great Victor Newman, into doing the absolutely unthinkable to save his Young & Restless empire!

At the moment, Victor still believes he’s holding all the cards, having threatened Cane with the exposure of his late father’s misdeeds if he doesn’t hand over the nefarious AI software. Additionally — and we still kinda can’t believe it given how he treated him — he now has Michael Baldwin working for him on the “inside”.

Indeed, it would seem that the expected victory is well in hand for the man who named himself Victor as a manifestation of such successes. His plan? To extort the AI software to use it to destroy his rival, Jack Abbott, by stealing his family business, Jabot Cosmetics, out from under him.

The problem? There are a couple of potential twists that could not only completely upend Victor’s scheme, but could ultimately push him to do the utterly unthinkable (in his mind) to save his own empire from Cane’s clutches.

First, the Black Knight’s plan would collapse if he proves unable to blackmail Ashby into giving him the dangerous AI software. Should Cane call his bluff, which he very well might, Victor will lose his leverage. He can go ahead and publish the dirt on Colin, but to what end? Will it really do anything more than hurt Ashby’s feelings?

Second, thanks to Young & Restless spoilers, we know that Cane is about to end an alliance. If our hunch is correct, he will cut ties with Michael.

*Spoiler Alert* — while we won’t give anything away, we can tell you that Michael shows up at the Cane train on Thursday’s episode while Victor is there, forcing the two to put on a little performance to hide the fact that they’re working together. If Cane is as crafty as we’ve been led to believe, he’ll catch on… thus leading to the end of his alliance with Michael on Friday. What does this mean?

If Victor loses his man on the inside as well as his leverage against Cane, he’ll be out of options. So desperate might he become to protect the empire he “built from the ground up” that he may well be forced to entertain an unthinkable idea: Calling a truce with Jack Abbott to team up with him against Cane.

Indeed, teasers tell us that he will find himself in this very position. Will the utterly unthinkable come to pass? To find out, you’ll have to tune in to Young & Restless, SOAPS readers!
