Billy says that there’s a lot to know about her surrogate son.
Jill nods. She’s heard warnings from Jack. She asks Cane what he’s up to; why is he here in Genoa City?
Cane shrugs. It was time for him to come home, and he wants to win some people over.

Billy says Cane plans to use AI to destroy companies from the inside out. It’s untraceable, according to Cane! He’d be targeting the Newmans, Jabot, and possibly Chancellor, too.
Jill asks if any of what Billy is saying is true.
Cane doesn’t know what to say. He hasn’t done anything!

Billy says that Cane told him his plan and wanted Billy to pull the trigger. Cane’s great at yanking people’s chains! Just like Victor, Cane is pretending to do this all for his family. He says that Cane told him if he made up with Jill, he’d make up with his children, too.
Jill has no doubt where Billy stands on making up with her.
Billy says there’s nothing to talk about… She sold him out! She begged him to run Chancellor, and he did it, but then she sold it to Victor without telling him. She obviously doesn’t trust him!

Jill tears up and says she was hoping that Cane and Billy might become friends. She wants to make it up to Billy.
Billy asks if she’s going to drop Cane like she did him if Cane goes through with his plan. He grabs his coat and stalks out of the train, angry.
Jill looks at Cane sadly. She’s afraid she’s going to lose him, too.

Cane says he wasn’t lying that he would try again with his kids if Billy made up with Jill. He knows Billy loves her!
Jill loves Billy, too, but they both have made mistakes.
Cane says she can’t blame herself for who Billy is.

Jill laughs. Sure she can; she made him! She asks about the accusations Billy was making against him.
Cane says that’s all they are… Accusations.
Jill hopes he wouldn’t sell his soul to get more. If he plans to, he needs to tell her so she can understand how he can be so cruel!

Cane says they need to take care of something important first. He gives her a big hug and tells her it’s great to see her.
Jill asks why he wasn’t at Chance’s funeral.
Cane says he wanted to let them grieve in peace and felt guilty… He couldn’t face Jill and Nina!

Jill tells him not to feel guilty; nobody could have known what Carter was capable of. She reminds him that he told her that he was coming back to friends and family who love him.
Cane laughs ironically. Nobody loves him!
Jill hopes he’s not giving up on life. She knows he’s a good man.

Cane says the cost of what he’d done has overwhelmed him. Maybe he should have stayed away and locked himself in the chateau. Maybe he should have just let everyone he cares about get on with their lives. He doesn’t know who he is anymore; is he Cane Ashby, or is he Aristotle Dumas… Maybe he’s his father’s son, and he’s the worst of all three! All he wants is to burn it all down!
Jill hugs him to comfort him.
