EastEnders stars to explore impact of ‘the manosphere’ in new documentary

The documentary will be fronted by Diane Parish, Max Murray and Ellie Dadd, who play Denise Fox, Joel Marshall and Amy Mitchell respectively, and whose characters will take a central role in the storyline.
The soap stars will talk to experts in the field, individuals with lived-experience, poet Sam Browne who went viral online for his poem on misogyny, and charity Beyond Equality to highlight the importance of storylines like Joel’s.
The documentary will consider what can be done to protect and help young people who may be exposed to these views online.
Nasfim Haque, BBC Three Head of Content, said: “We’re pleased to offer viewers an in-depth insight into Joel’s storyline as we investigate the real-life issue of misogyny, it’s impact, and what can be done to help those affected.”
