The Coronation Street moment Abi exposes affair to Kevin in spoiler video
It’s the stuff of nightmares and it’s happened to too many of us: sending a text to the person the text is about. Although Abi (Sally Carman-Duttine) and Carl Webster (Jonathan Howard) managed to quash Coronation Streets Queen of mean, Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford), it seems they’ll be felled by an accidental text…
It’s soap rule 101: affairs never stay secret forever, and what with Abi’s husband, Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell), there was little to no chance the soap God’s wouldn’t demand this explode in as messy way as possible.
After their blackmail ordeal with Tracy was settled by a ruthless Carl having her shop destroyed and threatening her elderly dad, the next threat to their secret came when Carl (and Kevin’s) sister, Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) discovered Abi with a room key to the hotel she owns, the same hotel that Carl lives in.
Although Abi had left Kevin, she’d kept the part about falling in love with his brother secret. As Debbie rounded on them, convinced that they’d been sleeping together, Carl, again displaying his ruthless streak, used Debbie’s dementia to convince her that she was confused, a move that even sickened Abi.

With the entire Webster clan invited to celebrate Debbie’s partner Ronnie Bailey’s (Vinta Morgan) birthday partner, Carl is incredibly uncomfortable to find himself smack bang between Abi and James Bailey (Jason Callender), who he’s also been sleeping with.
His discomfort at being sat between two paramours pales in comparison to what comes next, however, when a spilt drink leads to Debbie clocking the closeness between he and Abi, with her demanding the relationship end.
When Debbie begins to speak with Kevin quietly about protecting his assets amid the pending divorce proceedings, Abi pales and, thinking Debbie’s spilling the tea about her affair to Kevin, fires off a panicked text to Carl, informing him.

The text, however, is sent to Kevin himself. Because of course it is.
Abi tells Carl and as the anxiety and panic floods the pair, Carl determines to grab Kevin’s phone and delete the text before he can read it.
Though we’re unable to tell you how text-gate resolves, by the end of the week, Kevin demands his key back and makes it clear that Abi is no longer welcome in his home.
It seems the end has finally come for Abi and Kevin, but will this leave Abi and Carl free to begin their own relationship?
