This week, Coronation Street’s Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine) picked up Trisha Pinkerton (Anita Booth) during his cab shift, and it was instantly apparent that she knew who he was.

After chatting for a few minutes, Tim realised that he knew Trisha too, and the pair spent the rest of the episode catching up.

This caused tension between Tim and wife Sally Metcalfe (Sally Dynevor), who had been waiting to celebrate their wedding anniversary with him.

Of course, when Tim let slip where he’d been, and who he’d been with, Sally was hurt, and ordered him to sleep on the sofa.

However, Sally is set to soften in upcoming scenes when she realises who Trisha really is, and what she has done.

Who is Trisha Pinkerton in Coronation Street?

Earlier this week, Tim explained to Sally and his friends that Trisha Pinkerton, played by Anita Booth, was an ex-girlfriend from the past.

It was clear that they hadn’t seen each other in decades, and had a lot to catch up on.

In tonight’s episode, Trisha came to the cab office, where Tim introduced her to Brian Packham (Peter Gunn).

When Brian later asked how they knew each other, Tim explained that he used to deliver papers to her dad, and that she worked in the local corner shop.

However, when Tim revealed that she was 20 at the time, while he was only 14, Brian was left horrified.

What did Trisha do to Tim?

In the pub, Tim told Brian that he had lost his virginity to Trisha.

Though Tim made out that it gained him popularity among his peers, Brian explained that it was actually grooming.

With Tim being a minor, Trisha had taken advantage of him and therefore their encounters were sexual abuse.

This is something that Sally tries to get Tim to see in upcoming scenes, as he continues to deny it.

During their conversation in tonight’s episode, Brian asked Tim how he would feel if daughter Faye had told him she had been sleeping with a much older man when she was a teenager.

Tim insisted that it was different because ‘she’s a girl’, and his experience happened in ‘a different time’.

Though Brian argued that it was still abuse, Tim didn’t see it that way.

What else has Anita Booth been in?

Actress Anita Booth, who plays Trisha, has been in countless other TV series, including Holby City, Doctors and DCI Banks.

Most recently, she played the role of Miriam in the film A Teacher’s Gift.

Trisha is not Anita’s first Coronation Street role, with the actress having previously played a character called Nadine for one episode in 2012.

Nadine was part of a group of hauliers’ wives who had lunch at Nick’s Bistro.
