Coronation Street fans ‘hope not’ as they rumble Christina Boyd’s horror future

Those who follow the ITV soap know that actress Amy Robins has recently reprised the role as Daisy Midgeley’s mother

Coronation Street fans have said they ‘hope not’ as some think they have rumbled Christina Boyd’s horror future on the cobbles.

Those who follow the ITV soap know that actress Amy Robins has recently reprised the role after she was last seen on the cobbles earlier this year, after being double-crossed by her daughter, Daisy Midgeley.

As fans saw, Christina was in cahoots with Daisy to scam Jenny Connor out of a windfall. However, Daisy rumbled that Christina was working with catfish Dom, who was there to fleece Jenny out of her cash by acting as a new love interest who could double her investment.

But instead of confronting her, she got her hands on the cash herself and did a runner to Bali. Christina also left the Street in the aftermath. Then, in August, Christina was seen back in Weatherfield, much to Jenny’s dismay.

Bumping into her in the Rovers Return, Jenny fumed about Christina being there as she sat down for a chat with George. With a crush on the Undertaker, Jenny confronted the pair and George was left defending an emotional Christina, claiming their meeting was purely professional.

Jenny still wasn’t buying it as Christina revealed that Dom had died and that she was meeting with George to plan his funeral. But when she still didn’t believe her nemesis, Jenny stormed into the Undertakers and ended up seeing a lifeless Dom for herself in a mortifying confrontation.

Since then, Christina has been seeing George and has seemingly been settling into life in Weatherfield, but with a dramatic festive period planned for the local residents, as Corrie also marks its 65th anniversary, some are fearing for her future.

On Reddit, VerbalAries said: “Calling it now! Christmas predictions: Theo kills Billy, Christina, who is already weary of him, witnesses or somehow finds out and tries to blackmail. Theo kills her and dotes on the grieving Todd. Poor George.”

Own_Obligation4325 replied: “I really hope nothing bad happens to Christina, she’s already becoming a favourite.” Emily-67 echoed: “Completely agree! She’s really been great recently.” Bramallblade1 shared: “We need to protect Christina at all costs. I absolutely love her now.”

It comes after Iain MacLeod, the executive producer for continuing drama at ITV Studios, which is responsible for both Corrie and Emmerdale, hinted a big character is set for the chop amid plans a series of huge episodes to mark the milestone.

“The soap gods demand a sacrifice when you have an event of this kind,” Iain told the Mirror. He went on to share. “It’s going to be shocking. There will be lots of trauma, lots of drama, lots of twists.”

Teasing the drama will surround characters we’ve come to know and love, Iain said he’s not scared to be ruthless. “Sometimes the biggest and best exits are for characters that you care the most about.

“There’s always that equation where you think, ‘If they were to go, the viewers will really care, but what damage will it do to the landscape of the show in terms of the ability to tell stories?
