Coronation Street’s Catherine Tyldesley reveals real-life connection to ‘wonderful’ co-star

Corrie’s Eva Price star has shared a new behind-the-scenes snap ahead of her return to Weatherfield

Coronation Street star Catherine Tyldesley has revealed a real-life connection with her co-star amid her return.

The 42-year-old actress is reprising her role as Eva Price on ITV soap and is currently filming scenes, although she is yet to arrive on-screen.

Eva first arrived in 2011 and last appeared on the Cobbles in 2018, but she is returning to Weatherfield as the new landlady of The Rovers Return, and she isn’t alone.

The publican is joined by her partner, Ben Driscoll (Aaron McCusker), alongside his mother, Maggie (Pauline McLynn).

Ahead of her epic comeback, Catherine has shared a behind-the-scenes snap alongside James Cartwright, who plays Theo Silverton.

The pair can be standing on the set of the pub dressed in character as Eva and Theo, but this isn’t the first time the soap stars have crossed paths.

Catherine has revealed her long-standing friendship with James, which began when they met as teenagers.

Alongside the sweet photo, Catherine explained: “This one! We first met at theatre school age 13! Now we’re both in Weatherfield!

“Lovely to be reunited with my old Pal James. A wonderful man and a stellar actor! Ooooooh Theo- you nasty pasty!!!.”

Corrie fans wasted no time in commenting on the photo, with one person writing: “Fantastic actor, he has me and my daughter screaming at our TV, hahaha. Oi, Theo, leave our Todd alone, lol.

“Nasty villain award, well deserved, for James, next time round. Can’t wait until you hit our screens again, Catherine, hope it’s not too long now, beautiful lady.”

A second said: “Big fan of his dad. Great playwright. This chap seems like a jolly fellow. From The Archers to The Rovers. Good luck to him.”

A third chimed in: “Lovely Photo love them both xxxxxxxxx”, while another added: “Can’t wait for you to come back, miss you.”

Catherine’s exact return date hasn’t yet been confirmed by Corrie bosses. However, it appears she will cross paths with Theo, who has been subjecting Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) to horrendous domestic abuse.
