Phyllis shows up at Cane’s train car, but he’s not there when she calls out. She starts poking around when Cane walks in. “There you are! Where have you been?”

Cane asks why she was snooping around.

Phyllis says she was looking for a deck of cards… He had one everywhere in Nice! She says that Victor told her that he had dirt on Cane, and that Cane was there for every step of the con his father pulled.

Cane shrugs. Is that a problem? Is she still with him?

Phyllis says she’s with him 100%.

Cane nods. Good. He doesn’t want to talk about the article, he wants to talk about the future. He needs to change the way people think about him.

Phyllis wonders how he’s going to do that and how she fits in.
