Debbie kicked out in early Coronation Street ITVX release – and one person is to blame

This article contains spoilers for tonight’s Coronation Street, which has not yet aired on TV but is available to watch now on ITVX.
Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) found herself shunned by brother Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell) in tonight’s Coronation Street after she let slip that she knew about Abi and Carl Webster’s (Sally Carman and Jonathan Howard) affair.
When Carl arrived in Weatherfield to support Kevin through his cancer diagnosis, the first person he happened to bump into was his sister-in-law.
Their chemistry was instantly obvious, though Abi tried her best to push away her feelings.
However, once she discovered that Kevin had been lying to her about needing more treatment, she gave in to her desires and began sleeping with Carl.
After several weeks of lying to Kevin, Abi finally decided to break up with him, after he officially got the all clear from cancer.

As Kevin discussed plans for them to spend the rest of their lives together, Abi grew overwhelmed at the prospect and admitted that she didn’t love him anymore and wanted to get a divorce.
This came as a shock to Kevin, who thought they had managed to work things out despite the rough patch they had been going through.
For a while after the split, Abi and Kevin managed to co-parent amicably under the same roof, but that was never going to last.
Earlier this week, the Webster clan gathered in the Bistro with the Baileys to celebrate Ronnie’s (Vinta Morgan) birthday, which was where Abi sent an accidental text that tore everything apart.

After sending the text that said she suspected Kevin knew about their affair, Abi was horrified to realise that it hadn’t been delivered to Carl, as she’d intended, but to Kevin himself.
When he eventually saw the text, despite Abi and Carl’s best attempts to delete all evidence, Kevin understandably hit the roof.
What’s more, he made Abi explain to Jack Webster (Kyran Bowes) what she had done, which left Jack devastated.
In tonight’s episode, Abi caught Jack bunking off school, and was worried when he revealed that Kevin wasn’t coping well in her absence.

When she headed round to see him, Kevin made it clear how he felt about her as he demanded she give back her house keys.
As their conversation grew more intense, Abi revealed that she planned to move away with Carl and Alfie, which only upset Kevin more, and sent him spiralling.
Things reached a peak later when Kevin tossed Abi’s belongings out of the window and attempted to kiss Glenda Shuttleworth (Jodie Prenger) after a misunderstanding.
Thankfully, Glenda managed to find Debbie and warn her about the state Kevin was in, and she quickly rushed round to support him.
However, while trying to comfort him, she slipped up and revealed that she had known Carl and Abi were seeing each other.

Viewers will know that Debbie caught Abi and Carl together in the Chariot Square Hotel, and has been furious at them ever since. She has even tried to subtly warn Kevin to invest in a good divorce lawyer.
Kevin was absolutely heartbroken to have been betrayed by another sibling, and unceremoniously threw Debbie out, locking the door behind her.
This devastated the businesswoman, and when Abi and Carl strolled past, they caught the full brunt of her wrath. Debbie wasted no time in blaming Abi for the situation, insisting that she belonged in hell.
Will Kevin ever be able to forgive his family, or will he continue to push them away?
