The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers reveal that Sean Kanan has just scored a major win for his short film, The Persian Rug. Kanan’s film has been nominated for an Academy Award in the Live Action Short category.

He made the exciting announcement that The Persian Rug has been chosen to compete in the 2025 DaVinci International Film Festival. The DaVinci Festival is recognized for seeking out visionary, independent works.

Kanan’s film explores the themes of resilience and identity and he praised director Gabriel Beristain and the entire cast and crew for their hard work.

Kanan posted twice on Instagram, first saying “ OFFICIAL SELECTION ANNOUNCEMENT! We are incredibly honored to announce that our powerful new drama, The Persian Rug, has been selected for the DaVinci International Film Festival (DIFF) 2025!”

He added “A huge congratulations to our award-winning director and cinematographer, Gabriel Beristain, and the entire cast and crew. We are so proud to be an Official Selection and a standout contender in the Academy Awards Live Action Drama Short Film category!”

He concluded: “Don’t miss this deeply resonant story on resilience and identity.”

After Kanan’s news broke, fans saturated social media with congratulations.
One posted: “Looks amazing! Now I have a great reason to watch those Oscars!” while wrote “That’s awesome! Congratulations!”
