Phyllis and Cane sit at the bar in the club. Phyllis thinks the Newman’s hit piece will blow over.

Cane doesn’t think so. Newman Media made him look like someone that profited off of his father’s misdeeds. He needs something big to help him look better to everyone.

Phyllis is surprised… He wants her to help him with his image? She wonders why he’s so desperate.

Cane says he hired her because she’s smart and adaptable.

Phyllis nods. She’s flexible, but she thinks Cane is changing his plans too much. First he wanted to take over the world, then he wanted to reconnect with his kids, then he wanted to blow everything up, and now he wants to be Mother Theresa!

Cane protests and says he needs her.

Phyllis reminds him that he’s partnering up with the bad girl in town.

Cane says they can revamp both their images.

Phyllis laughs and says it’s like Bonnie saying Clyde is just misunderstood. How’s this going to look?

Cane says it’ll look like she’s aligning herself with a man who’s looked at his life and realized he needs to change. The only thing that matters to him right now is to prove to Lily, Charlie, and Mattie that he’s not a monster, and he needs Phyllis’s help to do this… Fast!

Phyllis thinks he’s got his work cut out for him.

Cane reminds her that she knows what it’s like to lose the trust and respect of her kids, and she convinced him he could turn things around.

Phyllis says the difference is that her misdeeds weren’t spread across the internet like his are, and Lily does not like him. She tells him to write his kids an email. She wants to know his plan.

Cane doesn’t have a plan… He just wants to be seen as a hero, somehow. Maybe he can use the AI to impress them instead of scare them. She’s the computer wiz, does she have any ideas?

Phyllis didn’t think about using the AI for “good.” She’s not sure what she’d do with it. Are they going to rewrite history?

Cane doesn’t think that would work. Everything that he’s built is being called into question, and he needs to change the narrative! He’d give up his businesses, money, and power to reconnect with Lily and his children. He’s explained this to her time and time again, but she just asks him stupid questions like this! Is she going to help him or not?
