It’s been a busy few weeks in Walford – and things aren’t about to calm down anytime soon. From Max Branning’s shock return, Harry being held hostage and Joel’s horrific attack on Joel – things have never been more tense in EastEnders.

Next week will start with Nigel Bates selling his car to fund his trip to India with Julie. However, he’s not ready to say goodbye yet, and decides to sneak off for one last drive after an argument with Julie Bates – but things are set to take a scary turn.

As Julie calls her husband, unaware of where he is, he quickly becomes overwhelmed and distracted and he crashes. He’s later left reeling from his actions, but what has happened? Nigel continues to worry, as he questions Julie but she covers that she was the one who was driving.

However, Nigel isn’t convinced and he turns himself into Jack, who accompanies him to the police station in the week. But how bad is the incident and what will go down?

We revisit Zoe’s private investigator storyline next week, and she’s not giving up hope.

Last we heard, Sharon said she would fund the PI for Zoe, after she revealed Dennis Rickman was her son’s dad. Zoe’s desperate to sort out a PI, as Kat promises to help, but she’s left furious when she finds out Zoe has stolen from the till.

She confronts Zoe at a secret PI meeting and grows suspicious of her lies.

Later, she drops another huge bombshell to Kat when she presses for a truth but what could it be?

Elsewhere, George is left concerned about Kojo’s whereabouts, as Okie orders Harry to sort it.

When on the line to Kojo though, Harry tells Kojo to run. Okie’s left fuming when he finds out, and tells Harry to tell Kojo to return to the handlers, and offers a threat when Harry refuses. But how bad will things get?

At The Albert, Jasmine supports Gina, and they go for a drink, but the night turns worrying.

After Ben and Callum’s breakup, Lexi stays cold to Johnny, and Billy dislikes Johnny’s gift attempts.
