Coronation Street fans are convinced Todd Grimshaw could be set for a shock exit in a heartbreaking death twist.

Over on the soap this year, Theo Silverton (James Cartwright) made his debut, and quickly struck up a romance with Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce). However, it later came out that Theo was married to Danielle (Natalie Anderson) and the pair had two kids.

What’s more, in a sad turn of events, Theo confided in Todd that he had lived a life in the closet, and revealed he was forced to undergo conversion therapy when he was younger.

The truth about Theo and Todd eventually came out and things got serious pretty quickly between the pair. Wanting to start a new life together, Theo and Todd got their own place on the street.

However, over the past few months, things have taken a dark turn as the soap explores domestic abuse in a same-sex partnership. Not only has Theo’s behaviour become increasingly controlling he is also attempting to isolate Todd from his close mates, Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank).

The abuse has also escalated to physical violence a few times. And this week, it was announced that the soap is set to air a special episode focused on Theo and Todd.

Coronation Street boss Kate Brooks recently shared: “By the time the story really gets going, Todd’s in a place where he really feels indebted to Theo. At this point, Theo’s true colours really are revealed. He’s a dark character and he’s really going to manipulate Todd. He’s really good at gaslighting Todd.”

But now, with more drama to come, heartbroken fans can’t help but think an exit could be on the cards for Todd. And in a shocking twist they reckon he will be killed off – but not by Theo.

On a Coronation Street Facebook fan page, one person wrote: “This is not going to end well for Todd. Don’t go back to Theo he’s awful.” Someone else then suggested Billy Mayhew could end up killing Todd, following the news that the actor Daniel is set to leave the soap.

They wrote: “I think Billy is going to kill Todd by accident (maybe during a fight between Theo?) and will get sent to prison. I’m sure of it.” A third chimed in: “Hmm is Billy apparently being killed off a red herring then? And it’s actually Todd?” referring to recent reports that Billy is getting killed off.

Someone else agreed and said: “That would be some twist!” Sharing their heartbreak, a fifth penned: “If Todd dies I’ll be so upset.” A sixth agreed: “Same here.”
