Sharon talks to a bandaged Noah, letting him know that she and Nick are there for him.

Nick tells Noah they should get out of there and do something fun.

They talk back and forth for a while, but Noah doesn’t respond.

Nick tells him they need him to get better.

Sharon cries and wonders if Noah is hearing them.

Nick reassures her that it helps to hear their voices. His phone rings, and he answers. It’s Victor, Nikki, and Victoria on speaker. They send their love and ask for updates. Nick tells them what’s happened and that they’re at his bedside.

A doctor enters, and Sharon asks if Noah is going to survive.

Nick tells his paents that he’ll call them back and update them. The doctor asks to speak outside, and they head into the corridor.

The doctor says there is swelling on the brain, and they recommend inducing a coma to reduce the swelling.

Sharon wails that this is Cassie all over again.

Nick explains that they lost a child in similar circumstances, but tells the doctor to do whatever it takes to save their son.

The doctor agrees and heads into the room.

Sharon questions whether it’s best to have Noah put into a coma. The nurse comes by and gives her a bag containing Noah’s personal belongings. Sharon opens the bag and pulls out a phone, a wallet, a billfold, and the watch they gave Noah for graduation.

Nick reads the inscription on the watch. “To a bright future and a deserving young man. Love mom & dad.” He prays for the strength to get through this. They can’t lose him! He promises Sharon they’ll make it through this. He excuses himself to call his parents and moves into the corridor.

Victor answers and puts him on speakerphone. He says that he or Nikki will be there at the hospital as soon as possible.

Nick tells them that Noah is being put into a coma to protect his brain from swelling. He needs his father to find the best brain surgeon on the planet, and he wants his mother to stay there and support Victor; if things change, they can fly out to see Noah and provide support. He promises to keep them updated and disconnects the call. He heads back in to see Sharon.

Sharon has pulled herself together a bit and reminisces about hopeful and happy times they had in their past.

A detective comes into the room and tells them that he’s investigating Noah’s crash.

The detective says that there was a witness… Another vehicle might have run Noah’s vehicle off the road and kept going!
