Cast joining Wendi Peters in Glorious on tour revealed – including EastEnders’ Matthew James Morrison

Matthew James Morrison will join Wendi Peters in the 20th anniversary UK tour of Peter Quilter’s play Glorious!, which runs from February to June 2026.
Glorious! follows Florence’s preparations for a sold-out recital at Carnegie Hall, as she and her pianist defy critics and embrace her unconventional performances. The play earned an Olivier nomination in its original West End run starring Dame Maureen Lipman in 2005, later inspiring the film adaptation with Meryl Streep and Hugh Grant.
Morrison, who recently completed a three-year stint on EastEnders as Felix Baker and his drag alter ego Tara Misu, will play Cosme McMoon. The role sees him opposite Peters as Florence Foster Jenkins, the New York socialite whose off-key singing made her a cult figure in the early 20th century.
The cast also includes Caroline Gruber as Maria and Mrs Verrinder-Gedge, Sioned Jones as Dorothy (also covering Florence, as she did in the original West End production), Ella-Maria Danson as ASM/Cover Maria/Dorothy and Mrs Verrinder-Gedge, and Ryan Hall as ASM/Cover Cosme McMoon.
The production is directed by Kirk Jameson, with design by Ingrid Hu, lighting by Mike Robertson, sound by Mark Goggins and wigs by Helen Keane. Musical supervision is by Nick Barstow, and casting by JJ Bee.
Glorious! is produced by Thomas Hopkins, with co-producers Craig Haffner, Sherry Wright and Sams Entertainment. The tour marks the play’s 20th anniversary, following international productions in more than 30 countries and translations into 25 languages.
Venues include Poole, Eastbourne, Derby, Ipswich, Windsor, Liverpool, Barnstaple, Malvern, Oxford, Basingstoke, Cheltenham, Guildford, Darlington, Coventry, Mold, Tunbridge Wells and Exeter. The national press night will take place at Theatre Royal Windsor on 16 March.
