In her Los Angeles hotel room, Claire is packing to leave. She pauses, remembering her passionate night with Holden.

A knock at the door interrupts her thoughts. It’s Holden. She invites him in, telling him he’s a five-star tour guide, but it’s time for her to go.

Holden stops her, saying there’s something he must tell her. He knows honesty is important to her, so he has to come clean about his past with Audra. They sit, and Holden begins his story. Years ago, he was a bartender at The Shadow Lounge, making good tips and networking.

Flashback: Audra was an artist. One day, she came in with a man who ordered champagne for them both. They were both regulars there, and Holden took their order.

Audra toasted to “their collaboration”, but the man toasted to “The Artist and her Patron.” The man is obviously trying to get Audra drunk. Audra tries to escape the table, but the man won’t let her.

Holden, seeing what’s happening, steps in and tells the man he’s been over-served. The man gets belligerent. As he’s being kicked out, Audra does something shocking: she lifts his wallet.
