Will Suki and Eve adopt? EastEnders star Heather Peace has some thoughts
The soap icon speaks about the possibility of the couple starting a family
EastEnders fans will be pleased to know that Heather Peace had predicted a new bundle of joy might enter Suki and Eve’s lives later in the show. Speaking on The Make A Difference Show, Heather speculated that potentially an adoption storyline might be on the cards for the couple.
Suki, played by Balvinder Sopal, and Eve’s love story has captivated audiences since its inception on EastEnders. After a chaotic journey at the end of last year – including that fateful wedding episode – the pair now seem to be in a stable place.
Heather spoke about what might be next for the pair: “I think this is probably going to be one of those arcs of how long it takes [to adopt a child]. It opens up all sorts of stories within the story: the doubts and the fears, the insecurities, the coming together, communication, the obstacles of Eve’s past, and Suki maybe not believing in her ability as a mother from her past experience. So, there’s a lot to explore.”
As reported by Digital Spy, the pair are currently navigating the difficulties of adoption and their different opinions on having children. Audiences will remember the rift that came between them earlier this year when Suki offered to raise her step-granddaughter Avani Nandra-Hart’s baby.
A visit from Eve’s mother Norma might throw everything up in the air, and Heather teases that this could potentially halt their plans of raising a family. As reported by Digital Spy, Heather said: “The glimpses that we’ve had of Eve’s childhood have been her talking about how Norma was very judgmental and forever comparing Eve to her sister, who was a highflyer.”
Heather continued: “Eve’s had some great parenting experience having been so close with Stacey’s kids, and also with supporting Avani and Nugget. I think she’d make an absolutely fantastic mum.”
We’ve got our fingers crossed that these two will be able to work it out.
