Susan Flannery’s Exit Shocked Fans

In 2012, Susan Flannery shocked fans by exiting B&B, her exit was abrupt and somewhat unexpected at the time.

Flannery was a part of the show for 25 years when her character was suddenly killed off. Flannery’s 2012 exit, as for most soaps, could easily be undone. Remember, nobody is ever dead on a soap.

Fans also remember that Stephanie Forrester (Susan Flannery) is no stranger to faking her death. Stephanie would use this to get Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) to bend to her will.

Stephanie even faked a heart attack in and attempt to get Ridge and Taylor Hayes (Rebecca Budig) back together at one point.

At the time, Flannery announced her departure right along with Ron Moss, who played Ridge at the time.

Susan Flannery Stated She Would Never Return

In a 2013 interview with TV Guide (per The List) Flannery reveal that she had no desire to return to the show at all. Susan went on to say that she Never Ever missed the soap after she decided to leave either.

The actress went as far as to say that she never had any second thoughts about her departure and she refused suggestions to bring back her character from the dead.

The former B&B actress said, “I only think about that part of my life when somebody calls me. I don’t mean to be unkind or anything. I had a great run and a wonderful time, but there’s still time to go. And when you go, it’s over. You don’t look back.” Flannery also said she had moved on to directing and would only be open to a primetime role.

Susan Flannery Has Since Moved

Flannery has since chosen to move out of the United States leaving Los Angeles to move to Australia. Katherine Kelly Lang (Brooke Logan) first posted about Susan’s move after attending her goodbye party.

This was followed on August 6, Susan Seaforth Hayes (Julie Williams DOOL), posted a photo captioned, “3 Susies have breakfast at Art’s Deli. The occasion: Susan Flannery, one of the great ladies of daytime or anywhere she turns up- is moving to Australia.

Flannery was a beloved mentor and pal to Suzanne and me in our early Salem Days together.” She added, “Laughs, love, tears, hugs… just like Salem. We will miss her ❤️⏳.”

Flannery is on of the most decorated woman in daytime. “Over the course of her daytime career, she earned 10 nominations in the Outstanding Lead Actress category at the Daytime Emmys, winning on her first try, in 1975, for her work on DAYS.
