Last Week on Y&R (Sep 8-12): Kyle’s $5M Deal Came to Light, Mariah Made a Shocking Admission, and Cane Sabotaged the Launch

The week of September 8-12 was filled with plenty of Newman-Abbott fireworks, including a launch party that never got off the ground. Here’s a rundown of what happened in Genoa City!
Claire’s Trust in Kyle Cracks
Claire started the week unsettled by Kyle’s secrets. First came the revelation of his kiss with Audra, then word of a mysterious $5 million deal with Victor. When Kyle finally admitted he promised Victor he’d pay that sum and leave town forever if he broke Claire’s heart, she was torn between believing his love and wondering if money was dictating his choices. Her doubts only deepened when Holden stepped in, admitting his feelings for her while hinting at a shady past with Audra in Los Angeles.

Mariah’s Dark Secret
Mariah confided in Tessa that she was considering time away at a Boston clinic for more intensive therapy. In a tearful moment, she admitted the shocking truth: she tried to kill a man. Tessa, reeling, pressed for answers while worrying what this meant for their family and their daughter Aria.

Cane’s A.I. Weapon Shakes the Business World
The launch party for Abbott Communications was sabotaged when Cane pulled the plug. He revealed to Billy, Sally, and Phyllis that he’d developed a powerful A.I. program capable of taking over companies and crippling finances from the inside out. Cane claimed Victor wanted it, but offered it to them instead as a weapon to take the moustache down.
Sally wanted no part of it, while Billy wrestled with the temptation, especially since Cane dangled Chancellor Industries as the prize. Jack was furious when he discovered the launch’s collapse and threatened to pull his funding.

Phyllis Caught in the Middle
Phyllis found herself torn between Cane’s schemes and Nick’s pleas to cut ties. Nick warned her that Cane’s path would lead to ruin, but Phyllis insisted she knew what she was doing and bristled at his constant judgment. Meanwhile, Cane urged her to stay close, insisting she had a bigger role in his endgame. By week’s end, even Michael got pulled in, negotiating with both Cane and Victor while being ordered to repair his fractured friendship with Phyllis.

Billy and Sally on the Brink
Billy and Sally’s partnership (and romance) took a hit as Cane’s offer drove a wedge between them. Sally demanded Billy choose between their relationship and Cane’s dangerous games, while Billy claimed he was doing it all for them. Billy’s obsession with defeating Victor and reclaiming Chancellor made Sally fear she wasn’t enough to pull him back from the edge.
