Suspicion mounts around Anthony Trueman (Nicholas Bailey) in EastEnders again next week and this time it’s Patrick (Rudolph Walker) and Kim Fox (Tameka Empson) who are unsure what to make of him.

Viewers know that Anthony made quite a comeback to the BBC One soap earlier this year and rescued his old flame Zoe Slater (Michelle Ryan) just in time when an accidental shooting caught her in the crossfire.

The situation between the two, however, escalated quite dramatically this past week when Zoe, convinced that someone is out to get her, accused Anthony of being responsible for her torment.

When he emerged from the bathroom just moments after someone attempted to scare her, Zoe turned on him, accusing him of sneaking around the pub.

Anthony was left concerned and thus pulled Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) aside, warning her that Zoe’s mental health seems to be deteriorating.

The doctor had voiced his concerns previously, telling Kat that Zoe’s behaviour is deeply worrying – and that she might be showing signs of a psychotic break.

Not only Zoe but also Patrick and Kim grow suspicious of Anthony after his somewhat clandestine behavior piques their interest.

In scenes set to air next Thursday (November 6), the pair share their suspicions on what he’s up to.

Anthony reveals that the local surgery in Albert Square has offered him a permanent job, which reassures everyone.

However, it’s clear that there is more going on here than meets the eye as, later, he makes a suspicious phone call – and it becomes clear that not everything is what it seems.

The question is: just what is Anthony up to? And is it in any way, shape or form tied to Zoe’s theory about him being the one targeting her?

Or is it something else entirely?
