At Neil Winters Jazz Lounge, Every Note Hides a Memory, and Every Glance Tells a Story No One Dares to Repeat

Sally sits at the bar and talks with Jill via video call. Sally wants to know if Jill has decided to invest in Abbott Communications, and when Jill says yes, Sally’s surprised but excited. She’s happy they can finally get Abbott Communications off the ground!

Sally Spectra sits at the bar on a video call with Jill Abbott.

Billy walks down into the lounge, and Jill warns Sally that Billy can’t know anything about her being an investor in the company.

Sally asks what she’s supposed to tell him.

Jill says that she’ll have to figure it out on her own.

Jill Abbott talks with Sally via video conference.

Billy comes over and she ends the call. He wonders who she was on the call with; she ended it so quickly, it was like she didn’t want him to see. He says he’s sure she has secret admirers, but he’s one of her not secret admirers.

Sally says that the person she was talking to wanted her to keep their identity secret, but it was his mom, Jill.

Billy can’t believe his mom would call Sally; she’s trying to infiltrate his love life now!

Billy Abbott sits and talks with Sally.

Sally says Jill isn’t playing him; why would she?

Billy doesn’t think so… He won’t forgive and forget so easily!

Sally wonders if he’d forgive if Jill was willing to invest in their company.

Sally talks to Billy.

Billy shakes his head. Sally needs to phone Jill back and tell her that he doesn’t want her money. He’s angry that Jill sold his other company out from under him; now she wants to fund her failure of a son?

Sally says she sold Jill on the company’s solidity, and Jill sees it as a way of Billy getting another shot to show her what he can do.

Billy appreciates that Sally went to Jill to bail them out, but once again, he’d be at Jill’s mercy, and she’d have something she can hold over his head.

Billy talks with Sally.

Sally doesn’t think that Jill wants to hold it over his head… She told her to keep it secret from Billy!

Billy asks why she’s telling him this… Didn’t Jill ask her not to?

Sally says she can’t build their company or their relationship on a lie. If this is going to work, then they need to be completely honest with each other. She’d rather risk alienating Jill than honor her demand to keep him in the dark.

Sally and Billy talk.

Billy has a feeling this is a test.

Sally says maybe it is, but Jill is committed to it. Does Billy want to take the next step alone, or does he want to go down the road with her together as a partnership.

Billy thinks Sally is telling him that if he doesn’t accept the money, he’s rejecting her, too.

Sally reminds him that he went behind her back and told Jack to pull the funding.

Billy hates that he made that decision and it eroded the trust between them. Does she trust him again?

Sally says that trust is reciprocal. She trusts him, and he needs to trust her. This move with Jill is the right move.

Sally sits at the bar.

Billy needs more convincing. If Jill came on board, she’d have to be completely hands-off.

Sally agrees. Jill wouldn’t have done this if she didn’t want to make amends in the long run. She asks him to promise that his personal anger won’t stop him from going through with this.

Billy wants to talk to Jill one-on-one about it. He needs to know her head is in the right place.

Sally can’t believe he’d betray her by telling Jill that she told him. She warns him that he risks everything if he blows this up.

Billy looks calculatingly at Sally.
