Poor Carter! Most Bold & Beautiful fans were feeling a pang of sympathy for the self-proclaimed “loser in love” when he broke things off with Hope, but we’re here to tell you why it may be the best thing that could have happened to the guy.

They say if you love something set it free, and indeed, Carter did just that when he ended his engagement to Hope. The whole thing proved to be a bit of a roller-coaster ride, as he jumped from wanting to get married that very day to urging Hope to go reconcile with Liam and give Beth her family back inside of twenty minutes, but it was heart-wrenching nonetheless.

Of course, not everyone felt bad for Carter, who sometimes comes off as hopelessly naive when it comes to matters of the heart. Should he have been more guarded?

Regardless, we’re here to tell you why the split from Hope could end up being the best thing that ever happened to him. In a word… Daphne. There’s finally a woman on the canvas who has only ever had eyes for him and who has no romantic baggage/history whatsoever with a Forrester, Logan, Spencer, or Sharpe.

If Daphne’s still up for giving it a shot with Carter, and it appears that she is, freeing Hope to be with her ex-husband may actually have been the selfless move that leads to him finding his true love and finally, finally creating the family of his own he’s so desperately yearned to have. We’d love to see it!
