“Cane’s Train Car: A Collision of Secrets, Lies, and a Past That Won’t Stay Buried”

Jill tells Jack that she wants to talk to Cane alone.

Cane Ashby, Jack Abbott, and Jill Abbott in the train car.

Jack asks Cane to consider what they’d discussed. He leaves the train car.

Cane tells Jill that Jack had an interesting idea about his situation… Jack thinks that Jill should dictate what Cane’s next moves are!

Jill wonders if Cane will agree after the chat they’re about to have. She says Victor made some outrageous claims… Did Colin target a woman in Nice and take her money to fund Arabesque? Was it built on fraud?

Cane looks at Jill questioningly.

Cane wonders if Victor has anything to back up his claims. He says Victor was using it to blackmail him to go against Jabot, but he won’t be manipulated by anyone.

Jill asks if he’s talking about her when he said “anyone.” She hopes he doesn’t think she’s manipulating him. Would he rather be sitting in his chateau in Nice, lying about his name and everything else?

Cane nods. It was easier to lead two lives rather than trying to prove himself to his children and make amends.

Jill Abbott.

Jill wonders if he really is trying to make amends. She wants to know if he had anything to do with Colin targeting the woman for the money?

Cane says that he didn’t know about it… Colin never told him about that.

Jill asks if Cane knew the money was filthy when Colin gave it to him?

Cane Ashby.

Cane shakes his head. He swears on the souls of his children!

Lily walks in. “Don’t you dare swear on our children to cover your deceit!”

Lily Winters walks into the train car.

Jill’s happy to see Lily, but it’s a pity that it’s under these circumstances.

Lily says she’d rather be anywhere but here, but their kids are going to read that their grandfather scammed a dying old woman!

Cane sighs. Victor made good on his threat; he was using it as leverage. He never thought Victor would stoop this low! He pulls out his phone and reads the article.

Cane talks to Lily.

Lily says that he should talk to the kids and warn them. Cane lied again; he tried to convince her that Colin was a changed man!

Cane says he didn’t know anything about Colin’s final scam… Whatever Colin did, he knew nothing about it!

Lily doesn’t know what to believe anymore. She’s given Mattie and Charlie the space to decide how they feel about their father, but she thinks after they read this hit piece, they’ll understand that Cane is his father’s son.

Lily talks to Cane.

Cane says Victor has no proof that he knew what his father did; why doesn’t she believe him?

Lily says she doesn’t know him anymore… The man she knew is long gone! Their children don’t need her blessing to leave him behind, but after this, they’ll get it! She won’t let him break their hearts anymore! She stalks out of the train car, furious.

Cane cries.

Cane tears up. He can’t fix this; it’s over.

Jill tells him it’s not over. Everyone in this town has been beaten up by the press, and they’re still here! She tells him to turn it around; he’s a good man, and he needs to let Lily and the children understand that. He needs to use actions, not words. Prove to them that he loves them more than fame or money. This is his time to redeem himself!
