Cheating scandal in Coronation Street as Todd is left aghast by Theo

Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) has put up with a hell of a lot from Theo Silverton (James Cartwright) since they got together in Coronation Street, but his latest move could prove to be the last straw.

Things have been incredibly difficult for Todd since he fell for Theo, and although he initially tried to brush off Theo’s manipulations and fiery behaviour as a result of him being a victim of sickening conversion therapy.

The ensuing collapse of his marriage following his acceptance of his true self, and subsequent involvement (and later death) of unhinged conversion therapy practitioner, Noah Hedley (Richard Winsor), later gave Todd further excuses for Theo’s increasingly cruel behaviour.

Todd, though, was horrified when manipulation gave way to physical abuse.

Last month, Theo physically abused Todd for the first time by trying to force feed him kebab meat. Though Theo was able to manipulate his way back into Todd’s life after he kicked him out, his abuse, while not physical, has remained very apparent.

After a chance meeting with an ex-boyfriend Manchester’s gay village who confirmed that Theo is a serial abuser gave way to he and Todd ending up in another argument, Theo disappeared.

Though fully aware of Todd’s worry about his whereabouts, Theo dragged the situation out as long as possible, only re-emerging to save Asha Alahan (Tanisha Gorey) and bask in the glory of being seen as a hero, with Todd welcoming him back home.

As Noah’s funeral approaches, Todd says he can’t make it due to work, though he’s actually attending a hospital appointment to check for bowel cancer. He tells Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) that he can’t bear to add anymore stress to Theo and begs him to keep it a secret.

Luckily for Todd, a suspicious George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley) discovers what’s going on and accompanies him to the appointment.

Meanwhile, after organising a lucrative contract with newcomer Pete (Andrew Hayden-Smith) alongside Gary Windass (Mikey North), Theo confronts Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) about what’s going on with Todd, his anger growing when Billy receives a call from Todd and takes it outside.

Returning home the next day with an almighty hangover, Todd explains that he slept at Billy’s, though is quick to reassure Theo that nothing happened, though as he pours out apologies, he’s floored when Pete emerges from the bathroom.

As Todd rails at Theo with accusations of cheating, Theo remains cold and unrepentant, firing back at Todd about his own secrecy. Todd, heartbroken and enraged, snaps and tells Theo to pack his bags, he wants him out!

Later in the Rovers, Theo approaches Todd gingerly and suggests they work things out. Forgiveness is the furthest thing from Todd’s mind, though, and he concocts a scheme of his own to exact revenge.

Has Todd finally wised up and seen Theo’s true colours? Or will the Theo manipulate his way back into Todd’s life?
