Coronation Street legend Debbie Webster could be set for a shock secret child twist, according to fans

Coronation Street fans are certain that Debbie Webster has a secret child and they are already on the cobbles.

Debbie (Sue Devaney) first appeared on the long-running ITV soap way back in 1984, as the sister of soap legend Kevin (Michael Le Vell). She ended up leaving a year later, but made her return years later in 2019.

And it’s fair to say Debbie has become a firm favourite with fans. However, over on the show recently, the beloved cobbles resident has had a dramatic few months.

At the start of the year, Kevin’s world was turned upside down when he was diagnosed with testicular cancer. Then, Kevin and Debbie’s estranged brother Carl (Jonathan Howard) showed up after living in Germany for years.

However, in a heartbreaking turn of events, Debbie was then diagnosed with vascular dementia, for which there isn’t a cure. However, Debbie is determined to live her life to the full with her family now supporting her.

Last week though, Debbie was left shocked when she discovered Carl and Kevin’s wife Abi’s (Sally Carman) scandalous affair. Despite her anger, an angry Debbie promised not to say anything to Kevin but demanded that Carl and Abi call things off – which they didn’t.

Nonetheless, this week, Kevin found out all about Abi and his brother’s shenanigans, after a huge blunder that Abi made while at a family birthday party.

With the truth out in the open, Debbie again demanded that Carl and Abi end things as Debbie insisted that Abi “isn’t good enough” for Carl. She also later comforted a heartbroken Kevin, but didn’t tell him she already knew all about Abi and Carl’s affair.

But now, in what would be a game-changing twist, fans reckon Debbie has a secret child who could be none other than Carl. On a Corrie Facebook fan page, one person wrote: “Who thinks Carl is Debbie’s secret son!!?? That’s why Abby’s not good enough for him.”

Someone else agreed: “Oh my goodness ! I think you’re onto something!” A third chimed in: “That’s exactly what I thought.” A fourth penned: “Imagine it coming out with the dementia all the juicy secrets!”

Someone else referenced rival soap EastEnders and mused: “Look at Kat Slater in Eastenders her parents brought her daughter up..Zoe as there own so it could be that Kevin dad & stepmother brought Carl up as there’s anything possible in soapland …”
