Coronation Street fans make clear demand as Ken Barlow stuns with ‘ageless’ appearance

‘Ken Barlow is literally 5 years old’

Coronation Street fans have issued a clear demand after Ken Barlow’s latest appearance caught them by surprise.

The Weatherfield stalwart, played by ITV soap legend William ‘Bill’ Roache, recently spent some time away from the cobbles, with fans back in July questioning his whereabouts.

But a few weeks ago, Ken was seen back at No.1 Coronation Street and during Monday’s (October 6) episode of Corrie, he was seen partaking in a conversation with Brody Michaelis.

The teen unexpectedly found himself minding the corner shop after a distressed Asha Alahan left him in charge. Brody took an interest in the book Ken had under his arm, which he revealed was about the Spanish Civil War.

He told Brody he was re-reading the book but when he quizzed the troubled youngster on whether he knew of the author, Brody shook his head and feigned interest until he admitted: “I hated history in school.”

But it was Brody’s following comments that sparked Ken’s interest. He said: “In the STC [Secure Training Centre], we had this teacher called Mr Osbourne and he tried to get us to read this poem from World War One.”

“Sounds fabulous. In fact, the Mr Osbourne you’re returning to is my…”

Ken replied, but Brody interjected and moaned: “He’d read us these poems and he’d get tears in his eyes…”

Ken didn’t seem impressed as Brody moved on to ask: “Have you got the right money?”

But Corrie fans were a fan of the scenes, and were also surprised by Ken’s ‘ageless’ appearance.
