Coronation Street fans think they have ‘rumbled’ the real Becky Swain – and think her ‘last goodbyes’ could be looming.

Those who follow the ITV soap recently saw the new character make an arrival in Weatherfield. But she wasn’t a new face to some, as she was confirmed to be Lisa Swain’s ex-wife.

The detective sergeant thought her wife had been dead for almost four years. So she was shocked when Becky turned up in the living room on their daughter, Betsy’s, 18th birthday, despite her devastated family thinking she had died in line of duty.

As an emotional Lisa was unable to figure out if what was happening was real, Becky explained that she had been in Spain under another name having been put into witness protection, following an undercover operation gone wrong.

Since then, Lisa has clearly been battling with her feelings, while also trying to get to the truth of what really happened. She confronted her boss, DI Costello.

However, he confirmed Becky’s version of events, despite their being suspicion over whether he can be trusted, particularly by Lisa’s colleague DC Kit Green.

In scenes aired more recently, Becky was back at No.6, the home Lisa recently moved into with her new fiancee, Carla Connor, and revealed that she had rented a new place near Weatherfield.

Becky was looking for help moving in and after an clearly frustrated Carla told Betsy, who later discovered her other mum was alive, that she had work, Becky said she ideally needed someone with a car and it prompted the teen to suggest that Lisa could go with her as she had the day off from work.

Lisa reluctantly agreed. But soon, Lisa’s car ran out of fuel and with the pair trapped waiting for help, Becky used the opportunity to quiz her on her feelings for Carla.

Despite Lisa saying she was happy, Becky couldn’t help but bring things back to her, and how she’s found the past four years without her family, as she said she has been unable to move on herself.

She then tried to gift Lisa her favourite chocolate, a white mouse before she eventually admitted that she came back as she was jealous of the ‘love of her life’ moving on without her.

As things got more emotional for Lisa, they were interrupted by Carla and Betsy who turned up with fuel for the car. But it could be said that Carla secretly wanted to keep an eye on Lisa and Becky.

Since then, Betsy skipped college to spend time reconnecting with her other mum. When Becky attempted to lecture Betsy on her behaviour of late, Betsy said she had no right to parent her after disappearing from her life and stormed off.

Becky returned to No.6 where she was faced with Carla, who snapped at Becky and told her to ‘go back to being dead’. She, however, didn’t listen and later headed back to talk to Lisa. When Betsy arrived, she was furious that her mum had let Becky in and ordered her to leave.

But when Becky gave her a handful of cards, revealing that while she was away, she had written a card for every one of Betsy’s birthdays she missed, saying what she wished she could tell her in person, Betsy softened and told her mum to stay.

Later, Carla seemed put out when arrived home to Becky helping Betsy and Lisa in the kitchen. The Underworld factory boss said it was fine as Lisa said she couldn’t deny her daughter time with Becky, but the sad look on her face told a different story.
