Coronation Street fans work out ‘reason’ for Ollie’s arrival and know when identity will be exposed
Coronation Street fans think they have worked out the ‘real reason’ for Ollie’s arrival – and think they know exactly when his true identity will be exposed.
While nothing has been confirmed that the new character has something to hide, it has been hinted at and fans of the ITV soap have remained suspicious of his intentions.
Corrie fans will be aware that they were first introduced to the new character in August, when Dee-Dee Bailey met him at the Rovers Return.
The pair quickly hit it off, but Dee-Dee wasn’t interested in getting into another relationship following her trauma with her late fiancé, Joel Deering, last year.
But Ollie later made a return to the cobbles when it was revealed he was going to be one of Dee-Dee’s clients. After helping get him off the hook, Dee-Dee was unsure about pursuing anything romantic.
But with a clear attraction between the pair, the legal professional changed her mind and she and Ollie were seen on a date in the Rovers.
However, Corrie fans are suspicious of Ollie. It started when, during their date, Carla Connor and Lisa Swain were celebrating their engagement in the pub.
Then, during a recent double date with Alya Nazir and Adam Barlow in the Bistro, Ollie seemingly had an interest in Toyah Battersby. Ollie wasn’t impressed with the food and when Toyah came to collect their plates, and asked Ollie why he didn’t eat his, he appeared annoyed and told her that it was too heavy on the truffle oil and that he cares a lot about his food.
With things turning awkward, Alya set about smoothing things over, but it was when Ollie heard her say Toyah’s name, his attitude changed, and he suddenly seemed interested in the cobbles stalwart.
With his fellow diners heading out of the restaurant, Ollie held back and took a suspicious call, where he promised to do some digging. Looking over at Toyah, he said: “I’ll find out what I can. Do a bit of digging.”
Now, with more details about the upcoming Corrie crossover with Emmerdale, fans think Ollie could be a link that joins Weatherfield and the Dales together.
@PatPhoenix9 said: “Dee Dee’s boyfriend being Celia from #Emmerdale son when?? #Corrie #corriedale.” @swarlaera2 replied: “Grandson I think.” @corriecorefour echoed: “I did think son a couple of weeks ago I’m now thinking Grandson. And Costello is her son my new thoughts.”
@TheConnorSwains suggested: “I reckon he’s one of the kids she’s took off the street like Ray!” @Flive ake_TV_Chef added: “I think Ollie might have a connection to Celia and be part of the crossover. He got suspicious when DeeDee mentioned Lisa is a cop and with Toyah who had connections with Spyder(?) back in the day. #Swarla #Corrie.”
The standalone episode, set to be dubbed ‘Corriedale’, will see the residents of Weatherfield join forces with their Yorkshire neighbours in an action-packed hour of drama.
Corriedale will air on ITV, STV, ITVX and YouTube in early 2026, and will herald the start of the new soap power hour schedule, with each show screening 30-minute episodes every weekday, Emmerdale at 8pm, followed by Coronation Street at 8.30pm.
It was confirmed that cameras started rolling on the highly anticipated production at the end of September – with details of the stunt and which characters are involved being kept under wraps for the time being.
