Corrie fans know that Abi has been caught in a whirlwind affair with her husband Kevin’s brother Carl. The affair was recently exposed, though it seems there is another secret that’s yet to come to light as Carl has been seeing someone else on the side.

The soap has revealed that Carl has been secretly sleeping with James Bailey. Quizzed about her character’s reaction, Carman said she’d like to see the old Abi come out to play again.

“I would like to see the Abi of old come out when she used to blow cars up and puts plates of spaghetti over people’s heads and hold guns to peoples heads and all those kind of things. I’m up for anything, so let’s see,” she told The Sun.

The soap star suggested Corrie may have a few surprises in store for its viewers and that Abi and Carl’s comeuppance won’t be “obvious”.

“Corrie is full of surprises,” the actor said.

“Let’s see what happens, anything could happen, but it’s not the obvious I would say. There will certainly be fireworks.”

As for Abi and Kevin, their relationship may be at a major turning point, but Carman confirmed she and co-star Michael Le Vell will continue sharing the screen on Corrie.

“I have it on good authority that I will still be working with Le Vell in some capacity, so I’m happy,” she said.

“I genuinely don’t know [if Abi and Kevin will have a future],” she added about a possible reunion for the soap’s fan-favourite couple.

“I would like there to be. Abi and Kevin were just a brilliant mismatched, perfect-for-each-other couple.”
