Coronation Street fans have rallied around real-life couple Sally Carman and Joe Duttine following a sweet family update.

Sally – who plays Abi Webster – and Joe – who plays Tim Metcalfe – found love on the ITV soap back in 2018. The following year they revealed they had moved in together.

Fast forward to March 2020 and Sally and Joe took the next step when they got engaged. Joe popped the question while they were enjoying a walk during lockdown.

And in July 2022, after delaying their wedding multiple times due to Covid, the happy couple made things official and tied the knot.

Sally and Joe got married in a lavish ceremony at St Philip’s Church in Salford, with Sally embracing her role as a stepmother to Joe’s three children.

Since then, Sally and Joe regularly give their fans updates on their lives away from Coronation Street – from their romantic trips away to life at their home in a village just outside Stockport.

And last week, Joe took to his Instagram to share an adorable photo of their four-legged family member Fig. In the photo, the dog posed next to a pint. Joe captioned the post: “…. hammered.”

Joe’s update left fans gushing and they soon rushed to the comments section. One person wrote: “Oh my, he’s so beautiful.”

Another added: “Aw cutie, mum and dad leading you into bad ways.” A third penned: “Just so adorable.” Sally also commented and quipped: “Who’s going to drive us home.”

Meanwhile, despite their off-screen bliss, Sally confessed to OK! Magazine earlier this year that acting alongside her spouse is far from ideal.

“I’d be very happy never to have a scene with him ever again,” she laughed. “I love Joe to bits, but I don’t like working with him – I’m never going to like working with him.

“Bless him, we’ve got very different work processes – let’s just put it like that. I like to come fully prepared; he likes to flesh it out on the floor.”

She added: “Also, he’s very funny. I’m such a giggler, and once I’ve gone, I’m gone. It’s terrible, and even if people get annoyed about it, it doesn’t help. He absolutely makes me howl with laughter, and he does it on purpose. I get cross with him because he knows the situation, but he can’t help himself.”
