Coronation Street is hinting that the Tim Metcalfe and Trisha Pinkerton storyline is set to take an even darker turn following scenes that aired as part of Friday’s episode this week.

Earlier this week, Trisha turned up out of the blue after not seeing Tim for decades, and wasted no time in flirting with him and hinting that she’d like something to happen.

Tim loved the attention, and bragged to Brian Packham that he lost his virginity to her when he was just 14 and she was 20. Brian was aghast at the revelation, but Tim wouldn’t listen.

In this latest episode, Brian confronted Trisha directly and accused her of grooming a child. Trisha is horrified while Tim tells him he’s crossed a line, but Brian insists that the line was crossed by Trisha all those years ago.

Sally later spoke to Tim about his history with Trisha, and he admitted what happened. He once again defended their age difference, repeating what he told Brian about it being consensual, and all his mates were jealous of him.

A skeptical Sally had a look on social media, and found a disturbing comment from someone saying that Trisha should be locked up for what she’s done — strongly implying that Tim isn’t the only person Trisha did this with.

At first, Tim thinks Sally is just overreacting yet again. However, a chat with Kevin — who is still reeling after Abi cheated on him with his brother Carl — makes him realise how lucky he is to still have Sally.

He then meets up with Trisha and tells her that it’s been nice to catch up, but he wants to draw a line and not see her again.

Will she keep her distance, or is this storyline only just getting off the ground?
