Coronation Street‘s Tyrone Dobbs suffers an agonising setback next week when he falls out of his wheelchair. The incident occurs after Cassie Plummer leaves her son home alone in favour of enjoying a drunken afternoon with Steve McDonald.

Tyrone’s wife Fiz is also nowhere to be seen. How will everyone respond when they find out what’s happened?

“Poor Tyrone – he’s lying on the ground and no-one can hear his cries for help,” our Corrie source reveals.

“Cassie is enjoying her time with Steve a few doors down and Fiz is miles away in town. They’re both meant to be looking after him.”

As the week begins, Cassie is playing the role of doting mum as she helps Tyrone with his physio exercises. But when a text pings through on her phone from Steve, Cassie decides what’s on offer at No.1 is far more exciting – so she makes a hasty exit, leaving Tyrone to fend for himself.

Over at the Barlows’, Tracy is fuming when she returns to find Steve and Cassie have drunk Ken’s prized bottle of vintage wine from his first wedding to Deirdre.

As Tracy gives the disrespectful duo both barrels, Fiz decides to make a diversion on her way back to Tyrone. Instead of going straight home, she asks Tim if he’ll drive her into town.

But while Cassie and Fiz enjoy their freedom, Tyrone’s in peril when he tumbles out of his wheelchair. Unable to move due to his spinal injury, Ty remains on the floor until Cassie returns to find him crying out in pain.

“Cassie is overwhelmed with regret over leaving her son,” our insider confirms. “And it’s made even worse when Fiz finds out what she did.

“She’s raging over Cassie’s irresponsible behaviour, but is also masking her own guilt at not being there for Tyrone.”

Unable to get past Cassie’s selfish behaviour, Fiz continues to give her mother-in-law the silent treatment. But the tables are turned when Cassie finds out from Sally Metcalfe that Carla Connor actually gave Fiz the week off work to look after Tyrone.

Suddenly she realises Fiz’s story about running a factory errand was a load of rubbish, and she also abandoned Tyrone. But will Fiz admit what she did?
