Coronation Street’s Carla to hit breaking point – but her unlikely new ally is revealed

Coronation Street‘s Carla Connor has been handling things quite well considering her fiancée’s wife recently rose from the dead. The businesswoman even convinced Lisa Swain to hear Becky out, despite her fears that they would reconnect.

But as the former spouses grow closer next week, Carla’s composure is pushed to the limit and she is forced to put her foot down. Will her relationship survive this latest hurdle?

In scenes that will air on Friday 3 October, Betsy Swain announces that she’s invited her mum Becky to lunch. Uncomfortable Carla fakes a smiles in order to keep the peace.

However, while eating, Becky tries to pick food off Lisa’s plate. The bold display leaves Carla unimpressed and she is quick to call Becky out.

When challenged, Becky explains that she just wants some normality after coming out of hiding. But Carla insists that she’s clearly trying to reclaim her estranged family.

Terrified that she’s losing Lisa, Carla tells the pair that they’re deluded and storms out. Later, she makes a surprise visit to the police station where she tells Kit Green that she doesn’t believe Becky’s story.

Carla admits that she thinks there’s more to Becky’s disappearance than she has shared with Lisa. But will her suspicions resonate with Kit?

“While Carla totally trusts Lisa, she doesn’t feel the same way about Becky,” our Corrie insider shares. “The last thing she wants is Becky playing games – and she’s keen to nip it in the bud before the situation gets out of hand.

“Kit’s caused plenty of trouble for Lisa in the past, but could he be exactly the right person to help Carla investigate Becky’s story?”
