Kyle asks Claire if they can start fresh… Forget what happened with the kiss in Nice!

Claire wishes she could forget it, but she can’t help but wonder if he would have told her the truth if she hadn’t forced it.

Kyle swears he would have and wants to focus on how much they love each other. He says he has the perfect solution, and she’s going to love it! They need to go away on an amazing vacation together. He asks her to imagine a perfect world without Audra!

Claire laughs. That does sound appealing.

Kyle thinks they should go to Paris. There’s a week before Harrison comes back from Italy, they’ll take the company jet and leave tonight! He’ll show her the best time; they’ll stay at Ashley’s apartment there and visit the booksellers. Since she’s going to be huge in the publishing world, they’ll get her some first editions and souvenirs! He knows she’ll love Shakespeare and Company; what better way to honor her father, Cole?

Claire smiles. She thinks it’d be nice, but as touched and tempted as she is… She thinks that it would be running away from their issues instead of facing them head-on.

Kyle thinks they just need to get “back in sync,” and running away from their problems might just be the way to do that.

Claire says that she’s been through a lot of therapy, and she’d never heard a therapist say that running away from problems is an answer.

Kyle laughs and says they won’t be running away from something, they’ll be running toward a stronger relationship, and there’s no better place to do it than in Paris!

Esther comes in with a pot of coffee and says she’s thrilled for them… Young love in Paris! It’ll be magic! She sighs and walks away, smiling.

Claire says she can’t go… She’s about to start her new job at Newman Publishing, and she needs to be there for her mom.

Kyle says he spoke to Victoria, and she’s rooting for them. He’s trying to give her the space her mom said she needed.

Claire laughs. Giving her the space by going with her to Paris? Is this what he does? She thinks it’s a distraction like his proposal was.

Kyle just wants her to be happy.

Claire knows, but he broke her trust, and she can’t just go back to the way they were.

Kyle assures her this isn’t a trick or a tactic; he wanted them to reconnect in a city that’s known for romance!

Claire thinks he’s pushing too hard.

Kyle says he’s been in love and been married, but he’s never felt this way before about anyone… He wants her to be with him for the rest of his life. He’ll do anything and everything to save them! What will it take to make this right? Whatever she wants him to do, he’ll do it!

Holden walks in as they’re talking and says hello.

Esther walks over and drops off some extra hot drinks for them. She declares that they’re cafe au lait, ala Esther. They’re the perfect drink for young lovers heading to Paris!

Claire says they’re not going to Paris at the moment.

Esther’s sorry to hear it, but at least they can enjoy these drinks on the house! She asks Holden if he’d like one.

Holden says he has somewhere to be, but thanks her for the mochas they had the other night… He and Claire loved them!

Esther laughs and says that she told her that a mocha was the perfect cure for the tipsies! She hopes she didn’t have a headache the next morning!

Claire smiles. She didn’t!

Esther smiles and heads off to take another customer’s order.

Kyle didn’t realize that they stopped in after their “Vesper party.”

Holden says they did, but he came there to offer them an apology; he’s overstepped and never wanted to cause them problems! He asks if they’ve had any trouble with Audra lately.

Claire says they haven’t heard anything lately.

Holden nods. What he did must have done the trick! He won’t go into specifics, but he cleared the air between them. He hopes they accept his apology!

Claire says there’s no apology necessary; he hasn’t done anything that’s come close to overstepping. She looks at Kyle. “Has he?”

Kyle says he might have overreacted… He shouldn’t have told Holden to back off!

Holden gets it; he’s protecting the woman he loves! He’d do the same if he had a woman as amazing as Claire in his life! They’re lucky to have found each other. He wants to let them know he’s heading to L.A.

Kyle gets excited. “Permanently?”

Holden shakes his head. He’s working for Cane and is selling off properties for him. They’re closing the offices in L.A., and are going to run everything here from Genoa City.

Kyle wonders why Holden is working for Cane again… He thought Holden blamed Cane for Damian’s death… Or maybe Holden never stopped working for Cane, after all!

Holden says that he was fired at the same time as Damian, and he blamed Cane for Damian’s death at first, but once he heard the whole story, he understood that Cane wasn’t responsible. He’s just grateful to have a job! He doesn’t want to take anymore of their time.

Claire thanks him for his apology. She’s glad he’s sticking around! Her phone rings, and she excuses herself to take the call… It’s her mother.

Holden asks Kyle if they’re good.

Kyle shakes his head and he smirks. “Not even close.” He thinks Holden’s apology was all for show; he was trying to look good in Claire’s eyes while Kyle looked like an ass! They’re not good, and they never will be!
