Lauren walks into the cafe and meets with Christine. She tells her that she’ll take her over to Marchetti, where she has the dresses stored. She tells Danny that he won’t see the dress before the wedding.

Danny grins. He wants to be surprised!

Christine gives Danny a kiss and leaves with Lauren to see the dresses.

Danny asks his son to tell him what’s really going on since they’re alone now.

Daniel tells his father that Mariah had asked to meet with him and not to tell Tessa. She told him she wanted him to look after Tessa because she was going away for a while. He says she didn’t look like she was on “the road to recovery.” He knows Tessa is heartbroken and wants Mariah to come home soon. He’s not sure how to help.

Danny agrees… It’s a lot to ask! He wonders if Daniel is having problems with it because of his growing feelings for Tessa.

Daniel says his feelings for Tessa don’t matter… Tessa’s heart is breaking, and Mariah refuses to tell her why! He’s not sure how he feels about Mariah asking him to be Tessa’s support, either.

Danny says Mariah must really trust him.

Daniel shrugs. He’s still reeling from losing Heather! It’s hard to watch a relationship fall apart; everyone involved winds up getting hurt.

Danny tells him not to let love slip away from him.

Daniel sighs. Maybe a part of him doesn’t want to help. When Tessa’s not around, he thinks about her, but no matter how strong his feelings are, he doesn’t want to come between a couple!

Danny asks what happens if that couple ends up divorcing.

Daniel doubts Tessa and Mariah will divorce… They love each other too much!

Danny presses. “What if they don’t?”

Daniel says he’s not thinking about that. He wonders why his dad is trying to get him to admit things he’s not ready to talk about yet!

Danny says he never thought he’d have a second chance with Christine, but life can surprise you.

Daniel says it sounds like his dad is trying to tell him to sit back and wait for Tessa and Mariah to break up.

Danny says he knows one thing for sure… Daniel can’t keep his feelings pressed down; it’ll cause him problems! He begs his son to talk to him about his feelings.

Daniel says his personal feelings will just remain that… Personal and private. He won’t let them get in the way!
