Dawn details harrowing ordeal to Joe in Emmerdale after emotional Clemmie scenes
The war between the Tates and the Kings rumbles on in the wake of Carl being accused of sending on an indecent image in Emmerdale.
Nicola King (Nicola Wheeler) is in tiger mum mode ever since it came to light that Carl had shared an indecent image he’d been sent by Clemmie. As far as she’s concerned, her son is a good boy and has learned his lesson. Problem is, the police aren’t convinced.
But the real concern is Clemmie’s admission to Dawn – the true reason she sent the photo to Carl in the first place leaves Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley) absolutely crushed and guilty.
Dawn tries to talk to Nicola mother to mother, but that’s like trying to get sense out of stubborn Huskey who doesn’t want to walk in the rain. What could have been a sensible chat quickly escalates, and Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy) is drafted in to calm Nicola down.

But Laurel makes an admission that makes things worse, so there’s nothing that can save this situation now.
Dawn is feeling pretty rubbish about it all, especially when the school won’t support Clemmie in the way she feels they should.
She feels like her past has come back to slap her in the face, and feeling like a rotten mother, she turns to Joe (Ned Porteous) to unburden herself of her guilt.
She tells him about her dark past that saw her forced into sex work and a drug addiction.

She details how she met Clemmie’s mum – on the streets, and how she promised she’d take care of Clemmie, no matter what.
But she’s faced with a painful question, can she save Clemmie, or is she just causing her more damage?
‘It’s interesting because I think Dawn and Joe are an unlikely couple in lots of ways’, star Olivia Bromley said, reflecting on Dawn and Joe’s relationship.

‘They’re so different, they’ve got such different backgrounds and they’ve got such different energies in the way they move through the world, but there’s this kind of magnetism between them that they couldn’t really resist.
‘In a way, Dawn opening up about this past to somebody who seems to have it all together and who could be so judgemental, the way he actually responds to that and holds her in that space, I think is really beautiful and really sweet. She feels safe enough to talk to him about this.
‘I don’t think that Joe, as we know, is a particularly good man in lots of ways, but with Dawn all he seems to want to do is protect her and keep her safe. It’s a nice moment for the relationship. I don’t know what it shows for the future, but it’s nice that they’re able to be very honest and vulnerable with each other.’
