Billy’s Apartment

Billy is passed out on the couch. Sally comes in and strokes his hair softly, waking him.

Billy smiles and says he was dreaming.

Sally says he always is. She asks why he slept on the couch.

Billy says he was working, thinking, and hoping she’d come back. He wonders if she’s still angry about last night?

Sally shrugs. She needed time to think. She’s trying to figure out how to do damage control with the press, and she won’t let Billy go forward with this and help Cane ruin his life.

Billy doesn’t think it’s the time to play safe.

Sally is scared they’ll lose everything. She thinks Cane is leading Billy off a cliff, and she’s going to follow him. She knows Jill hurt Billy by taking Chancellor away and selling it to Victor, but Billy came up with Abbott Communications to deal with that hurt. She knows he wants to build something amazing. She begs him not to get involved with Cane. They have their own company, and they have each other… Isn’t that enough?

Billy wishes she could be more flexible about things. Chancellor Industries depends on him working with Cane. He says Jack forced his hand last night and pulled the funding for Abbott Communications. The company is dead! He says that’s why he has to work with Cane; Cane needs him. They both want the same thing, which is to take down Victor Newman!

Sally says that she gave up everything to join him at Abbott Communications. She put her reputation on the line.

Billy says it’s different now. He’ll get the funding for the company, he just needs time to figure it out!

Sally is worried she’s losing Billy. She can see the look in his eyes when he talks about going after Victor. She knows he cares about her, but she doesn’t think she’s enough for him.

Billy shakes his head. She is enough for him!

Sally says she went to Society last night and told Cane and Phyllis that she was going to stop him.

Billy’s wishes she hadn’t spoken to them.

Sally wonders why… Is he afraid she screwed things up for him?

Billy hates that what he’s doing is upsetting Sally, but if he turned back, he’ll lose Chancellor, Abbott Communications, and everything.

Sally says that she used to think Billy cared about what mattered to her, but he’s putting his obsessions ahead of their relationship. He’s not listening to her!

Billy says he’s not doing this for himself… He’s doing it for them. He wants to give her the world!

Sally doesn’t want the world. She just wants him.

Billy says they can get to the top and prove everyone wrong. He needs her to stand with him while he does that!

Sally takes his hands and says that what the world thinks of them doesn’t matter. She knows he’s a gambler, but he doesn’t need to risk everything by playing Cane’s games. He’s pushing her away by getting involved with a man that nobody trusts!

Billy tries to explain. He wants Genoa City at his feet, and he has a plan! He’ll use the threat of cyber warfare against Victor. He doesn’t actually need the software since Victor already knows what it can do. He’ll get Victor to hand over Chancellor as well as fund Abbott Communications in exchange for Billy not ruining him! This isn’t Cane’s plan, it’s his own! He’ll use Cane to get everything they want. It’s a win-win situation for them!
