Johnny Carter (Charlie Suff) makes a huge blunder in EastEnders next week, following some advice from grandmother Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe).

It’s yet another busy week for Johnny, in the wake of Jonno Highway’s funeral.

As viewers have seen so far, on the morning before the service, Callum Highway (Tony Clay) decided to make things official between them, much to the fury of the Mitchell clan.

Patriarch Phil (Steve McFadden) has already made his feelings known, lashing out at Johnny and swearing to make Callum’s life a misery for cheating on his husband Ben (Max Bowden).

Despite that, the two realised that they couldn’t keep their hands off one another and should continue the affair out of public view.

Callum knew how dangerous this was, and warned Johnny against attending the funeral – in case any further suspicions were raised. The two then shared a kiss, which was overseen by Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth).

The family kicked off, forcing Callum to make a huge decision.

He didn’t want to keep things quiet anymore, and decided that after the funeral, he’d go public with Johnny.

Completely blindsided by the revelation, Phil and Kathy had no option but to accept his wishes. However, a fresh surprise soon hit Callum when estranged Ben showed up at the graveside.

Uh-oh.

In upcoming scenes we’ll see Callum try and juggle the weight of his infidelity being exposed, while Phil and Kathy are unsure what to do for the best.

Will they tell Ben?

For Johnny, aside from the awkward encounter, he’s looking forward to the future.

Elaine is hopeful that he’ll be able to put his career as a lawyer into something more fruitful, setting up his own practice.

However, things soon turn sour when his nifty business plan has been sent to all of his clients, and the boss of the company he already works for.

To make matters worse… he was the one who sent it, having supped one too many beers the night before.

Realising his huge mistake, Johnny is forced to tell Callum that he’s now out of work.

This isn’t the new start they both envisioned!
