EastEnders makes heartbreaking change to Stacey Slater exit plot tonight
EastEnders is gearing up to say a sad goodbye to Stacey Slater in upcoming episodes, but the show has now confirmed an emotional change to her exit plot as her daughter Lily makes a big decision.
This week, Stacey’s brother Sean invited her and Lily to move to Brazil with the kids, to work for him at the restaurant he had bought.
Stacey was reluctant to accept the offer, but when Lily found out she insisted that it was an amazing opportunity that they couldn’t turn down.
It seemed that Stacey had been won over, as in today’s episode, she told Lily that she had bought one-way plane tickets to Brazil for them.
As the pair looked forward to their future abroad, Lily had to tell Ricky that she would be taking Charli away. Stacey offered to help with this tough conversation and said they would break the news to him together at lunchtime.
Meanwhile, when Stacey told her mum about her plans, Jean initially thought that Sean had asked her to come to Brazil too.
Jean realised she wasn’t invited, masked her hurt as best she could, yet couldn’t hide her devastation over Stacey and the kids leaving Walford.
Stacey got sidetracked helping Zoe, leaving Lily to tell Ricky about Brazil alone – and matters worsened when Jack turned up too.
Jack was furious about Lily taking Charli away, while Ricky was heartbroken but concluded that Lily knows what’s best for their daughter and accepted her decision.
This conversation gave Lily food for thought, and she realised that she couldn’t bring herself to take Charli away from her dad.
As Stacey continued her preparations to Brazil, Lily told her that she had changed her mind about the big move.
“Mum, I don’t think I can do this,” she said. “Charli’s got her own life here, her dad, and I’ve got to put her first. Mum, you can go to Brazil, but me and Charli aren’t coming with you.”
How will Stacey react to Lily’s huge decision?
