EastEnders sets up huge week of episodes with wedding cliffhanger
The BBC made a major blunder earlier this week when it accidentally streamed EastEnders on one of its social media channels, amusing several fans.
The BBC releases most EastEnders episodes on iPlayer at 6am from Monday to Thursday, then airs the same instalment on BBC One in the evening for live viewers.
On Wednesday (24 September), the BBC accidentally streamed the episode on its Breaking News social media accounts, giving fans a third way to watch the soap for a short time.
At one point, as Kat and Zoe continued their reunion with a conversation in the Slater household, nearly 38,000 people were watching the stream. The problem persisted for minutes, and the scene changed before the BBC fixed the stream.
“Obsessed with bbc breaking news accidentally live streaming EastEnders,” joked another viewer, with one other fan writing: “bbc breaking news live streaming EastEnders this country is so back.”
While fans had a chuckle at the blunder, the soap has continued to deliver drama this week, with the latest episode seeing Peter Beale outline his plan to have a shock wedding ceremony with Lauren Branning.
The move may not be wise, as Lauren appears indecisive in next week’s scenes when she is completely surprised. With their relationship having some recent difficulties, will this be a glorious day?
Will she dare to refuse him and humiliate him after he has worked so hard?
