EastEnders star Laura Doddington ‘flattered’ by Nicola Mitchell Royal Family comparison
Laura Doddington said she feels ‘flattered’ by fans comparing Nicola Mitchell to a Royal Family member.
Nicola, Teddy Mitchell’s ex-wife, joined EastEnders last November and immediately made a big impact.
Viewers soon learned that Nicola was hiding dark secrets from her past, including that she killed her son Harry Mitchell’s girlfriend Shireen Bashar, who had been missing for three years.

If that wasn’t bad enough, it also emerged that Zack Hudson was her teenage son Barney’s biological father after cheating on Teddy in the past.
Currently running wine bar Harry’s Barn, Nicola recently began seeing George Knight after they shared some of their past troubles.
Although Nicola featured in major 40th anniversary storylines, some viewers remain struck by her resemblance to Queen Camilla.
At the National Television Awards, where EastEnders won Best Serial Drama, 44-year-old Laura addressed comparisons to the 78-year-old royal.

She told BANG Showbiz at the National Television Awards in London: “I didn’t see the resemblance, but sure.”
“The hairstyle was quite similar, but I’m absolutely happy with [being called the Queen].”
With her character already a fan favourite, Laura said that she’s ‘having the best time’ of her life and she ‘can’t believe it’.
Asked what her EastEnders highlight has been so far, she added: “Oh, I don’t know! I mean, I’ve done so much in the last nine months. It’s been incredible.
“I love my family, I think they’re just amazing. I love working with the boys.”
It’s been a busy period for EastEnders, with Ben Wadey, who was previously a Story Editor, replacing Chris Clenshaw as Executive Producer.
Praising Ben’s hard work to date, which included bringing back Zoe Slater, Laura noted: “Oh, he’s fabulous. Yeah, he’s brilliant!”
It remains to been if Nicola and George’s romance continues to blossom, with the latter currently on the wrong side of Ravi Gulati.
