Emmerdale fans left in shock as villain ‘spotted’ in Coronation Street
In a blink and you’ll miss it moment from last week’s Coronation Street, it appeared that John Sugden could be seen on a wanted poster in the police station
Coronation Street appears to have a very familiar face on a wanted poster at the police station, and fans of fellow ITV soap Emmerdale have been left in shock.
In the Corrie episode, which aired on Wednesday September 24, the poster can be seen behind Asha as she leaves the station, in a blink and you’ll miss it moment.
According to Metro, the blurred photo is Emmerdale’s John Sugden. The two ITV soaps will be teaming up for a crossover at the beginning on 2026 – but some fans aren’t convinced it’s the Emmerdale villain, so to speak. In fact they think another character may be coming ‘back from the dead’.

Oliver Farnworth played the character Andy Carver in Coronation Street from 2014-2017. However, he first appeared posing as Gavin Rodwell, the son of Michael. In 2017, he was shot dead by villain Pat Phelan.
In dark scenes Andy agreed with Pat to kill off his former business partner Vinny Ashford to earn his freedom, but eventually, Pat double crossed Andy and shot him dead, leading to Oliver Farnworth’s exit from Coronation Street.

But, that doesn’t stop fans from thinking it could be him on the poster. Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one fan penned: “When it turns out he’s not even John Sugden it’s just Andy from Corrie 2015 carrying on his false identity trademark!” as another replied: “Oh HANG ON!”
“But then Andy died. Phelan shot Him and chucked his body in a pond – He must’ve come back to life like Becky did,” as another wrote: “If they can bring Becky back, this dude can return with a new identity. It’s not like he wasn’t a con artist anyway.”

Over in Emmerdale, it seemed like killer John was about to get his comeuppance, but in a shock twist, Caleb helped John to flee the country, so long as he deleted an email that was scheduled to be sent to the police revealing the location of Anthony Fox’s body.
