Darragh, 44, joined the ITV programme as a Chaser five years ago after defeating Paul Sinha in 2017.
Appearing as a contestant at the time, Darragh managed to secure £9,000 in the cash builder, beating the Sinnerman to advance to the Final Chase.
His teammates however accepted the lower offers, leaving just £6,300 to divide between them.
It prompted a GoFundMe campaign from furious fans who wanted to help fund a new door for Darragh’s home – though he insisted the money should go to charity, reports the Express.

The Dublin-born quiz expert found roles reversed three years later when he joined Paul, along with Mark Labbett, Anne Hegerty, Jenny Ryan, and Shaun Wallace as a Chaser.
It saw him appearing on the programme alongside host Bradley Walsh.
Speaking on the Dempsey’s Dozen podcast, Darragh disclosed a guaranteed method to irritate Bradley, 65, is by initiating a conversation about a particular food product.

He said: “If you ever want to drive Bradley Walsh mad, talk about the different pasta types.”
Imitating an exasperated Bradley, Darragh added: “‘It’s all pasta, there’s no difference’.”
Darragh recently disclosed that Bradley, who appeared in Coronation Street before joining The Chase, is a “lot better than people think”.
Speaking at the National Television Awards, Darragh said Bradley “comes up with stuff on the cusp”. He continued: “A lot of people think that he’s just a clown and he’s like, he likes to clown around, but he’s a very professional clown.”
The Oxford University academic reveals that Bradley makes reading the questions at lightning speed appear “very, very easy”.
He confesses it’s not a role he would relish, preferring instead to concentrate on providing the answers.
During Dempsey’s Dozen, Darragh also spoke about his bond with his fellow Chasers.
He revealed: “I tend to get on with Paul and Jenny best. Jenny’s closest to me in age, I think we’re about the same age.
“I get along with Jenny, I get along with Paul. We all get along to be honest. But Anne is an autistic lady in her sixties, so we don’t hang out very much, but when we do, we all get along.”
Darragh will make his comeback to television on Beat The Chasers at 8pm on ITV One this evening.
The spin-off programme features contestants tackling questions valued at £1,000 each.
Each round concludes when they answer incorrectly or successfully complete all five questions.

Participants must then choose how many Chasers they wish to battle against – the more adversaries they select, the greater the potential winnings.
