Kevin breaks down in tears in Coronation Street as he suffers another blow
I mean, you really wouldn’t want to be Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell) at the moment, would you? After battling testicular cancer, he hoped to retire with wife, Abi (Sally Carman-Duttine), only for her to dump him, later finding out that she’d been having an affair with his brother, Carl (Jonathan Howard).
Kevin knew things were crumbling between he and Abi, and was incredibly paranoid at the growing relationship between his wife and his brother, even pretending that he was still battling cancer, despite receiving the news that he was in remission, to keep her at his side.
Abi discovered his lies and, despite remaining with Kevin for the sake of the kids, continued her affair with Carl. The two were discovered by Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) who extorted them for cash, until ruthless Carl shut her down by having her shop ransacked and threatening her elderly dad, Ken Barlow (William Roache).
When Kevin received a further clean bill of health and waxed lyrical to Abi about his plans for their retirement, Abi could take no more and broke Kevin’s heart by asking for a divorce…though left out the bit about her falling in love with his brother.

Though Kevin and Abi vowed to co-parent amicably, Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) discovered their secret next. Though Carl tried to throw her off the scent by using her dementia against her in a particularly cruel move, though she later found concrete proof that she’d been right all along.
Things finally came to a head at Ronnie Bailey’s (Vinta Morgan) birthday party, with Kevin, Abi, Carl and even James Bailey (Jason Callender) (who Carl’s also been romancing) in the same place at the same time.
When Abi sent Kevin a text meant for Carl, she set off a ticking time bomb that ultimately exploded. While Carl managed to wipe the text from Kevin’s phone, he found it on Alfie’s tablet, leading to a furious explosion.

While Kevin told Abi that they could get past this, Abi made things crystal clear: their marriage was over, packing her bags and heading to the hotel to stay with Carl.
The next day, Kevin throws Abi’s things out on the street, demands she had her key back and banishes her for good.
Next week sees Abi contact Kevin with an offer for him to have Alfie for the day. Kevin is elated as he’d previously expressed to Debbie that losing Alfie, who he’s raised his entire life, could come as a consequence of splitting with Abi.

When he arrives, however, his anger and upset is apparent, and Abi quickly withdraws the offer, promising Kevin he can see the youngster another time.
Outside, Kevin breaks down in tears, devastated by all that’s happened to him recently.
Will things get worse in the war between the Webster’s?
