Kyle meets his father in his office. He says Claire broke things off with him, and he can’t fix it.

Jack asks if Claire’s feelings had changed for Kyle.

Kyle shrugs. Claire felt that she needed to explore other relationships first. He hopes his father isn’t taking Claire’s side on this.

Jack says he understands where Claire is coming from, but Claire might be doing the smart thing by ripping the bandage off quickly before things go south! This was her first experience with romance, so he can understand why she needs to take time to know her own heart.

Kyle says that it doesn’t make the pain easier to bear.

Jack knows it, and he’s sorry. He gives his son a hug in comfort. They sit down and talk business for a bit.

Kyle wonders how he’s going to tell Harrison about his split. He agrees to wait a bit to see how things turn out.

Diane shows up with takeout and asks Kyle to join them.

Kyle shakes his head. He wouldn’t be able to eat anything!

Diane says she saw Claire at Society when she was picking up the food. She mentions that Claire is going to LA soon… She assumes Claire needs some time away to clear her head.

Kyle says Jack already gave him a speech in defense of Claire. Is she supporting Claire, too?

Diane says she’s not supporting Claire breaking up with Kyle; she thinks this must be temporary… It’s not over yet!

Kyle says that giving Claire space makes him nervous… What if she figures out that she never really loved him at all?

Diane says that it might be hard to hear, but it’d be better that he found this out sooner rather than later.
