Society: The Center of Love and Schemes on The Young And The Restless!

Diane tells Jack not to look… Phyllis just walked in! Diane says that she won’t play nice with her because Phyllis is working with Cane to bring them down… She’d like to wring her neck!

Jack grins and says he has a better idea. He beckons Phyllis over and tells Diane to follow his lead.

Jack and Diane look away when Phyllis enters the restaurant.

Phyllis wanders over and says hello. They make small talk about Harrison until Jack asks how things are going with her and Cane. She says things couldn’t be better; the new and improved Arabesque will be the biggest thing to hit this town in years! It’s going to be epic!

Jack grins and asks how epic it’s going to be.

Phyllis says she can’t give away company secrets… They’ll just have to wait and see!

Phyllis Summers smiles at Jack.

Jack says he heard that Cane had a change of heart and had given up his acquisition plans.

Diane agrees. It doesn’t sound like “new and improved,” it sounds like “old and dead!” She thinks it’s sad that Phyllis has to pretend things are going well, when they obviously aren’t. Everyone knows it.

Phyllis shoots back that Cane isn’t pulling back, everything is still on track! Where did they hear this bogus information… Billy?

Diane holds a glass of wine as she talks with Phyllis.

Phyllis figures Cane didn’t want Billy to be part of the business and he got rid of him… Billy’s just sour about it and is making things up.

Diane jokes that Phyllis is lying and her nose is growing.

Phyllis smirks as she talks to Diane.
CBS

Phyllis says she’s not lying… Everything is moving forward; there’s just a slight delay!

Diane asks why there’s a delay… What’s holding up the big parade? Why is Cane delaying his plans? If Phyllis knows so much, she can just tell them.

Phyllis says that Cane’s children were really affected by the reveal that he was Dumas, so he’s taking time off to make things right with them. She thinks it’s noble of Cane to put his family first; he’s a wonderful man who wants to put his business on hold until he rights things with his family.

Diane Abbott-Jenkins crosses her arms as she talks to Phyllis.

Diane and Phyllis bicker for a minute or two. Phyllis tells them to have a great evening and heads to the bar where she picks up a drink.

Jack tells Diane he was trying to get information from Phyllis, but he couldn’t do that with all the bricks flying back and forth!

Diane apologizes… Phyllis really knows how to push her buttons!

Jack smiles at Diane as they talk.

Jack nods. He thinks there’s something very “off” about Phyllis’s story. He thinks that Cane probably did tell Billy that he was abandoning his plan, but why wouldn’t Phyllis know that?

Diane is surprised Cane tells Phyllis anything. Maybe Cane told Billy that the mission is off, and Phyllis is just trying to save face.

Jack agrees… Maybe Phyllis doesn’t know as much as he’d hoped. Cane loves playing games, maybe this is another one! Cane might be biding his time and waiting to strike.

Jack and Diane talk with Amanda.

They get up to leave, and Amanda walks in. She says they’re probably happy to be off the train and back home again! She’s sorry that their trip ended in tragedy, but the nightmare is over now.

Diane isn’t sure the nightmare is over yet.

Jack agrees. He tells Amanda that if Cane causes any more surprises that affect him or his family, he’ll make Cane and Amanda regret the day they came back! He and Diane leave the restaurant.

Jack and Diane Abbott.

Amanda joins Phyllis, who passes her a martini with a twist. She asks if Jack threatened her, too.

Phyllis says that Jack just wants to know what Cane is up to… And so does she!

Amanda talks with Phyllis.
